The St George Continental Cycling Team is a club-focused team that aims to develop it’s juniors from the local community, in order to support both the St. George Cycling Club and juniors alike.
St. George Cycling Club is Australia’s most successful cycling club, having produced more than 100 national representatives. Since 1956, no Olympic or Commonwealth Games cycling team has taken to the track without a St George Cycling Club representative in the team – a statistic that no other sporting club in Australia can match. Our aim is to continue this feat, as we focus simultaneously on developing riders both on the road and track environments.
Active members of the club include Chris Sutton (Team Sky), Graeme Brown (Rabobank), Mathew White (DS Orica GreenEdge), Kaarle McCulloch (2012 Olympic Medallist and Multiple World Champion) and Ashlee Ankudinoff (National Team Member, Medalist 2012 World Track Championships, Former World Champion).
The team was established, and is now managed by, former Olympic and Commonwealth medalist, Brett Dutton. After competing in the 1986 Commonwealth Games and 1988 Olympics, Brett has continued to play an active role in the cycling community.
Brett is an advocate for promoting cycling in Australia at all levels, including being heavily involved in coaching and mentoring roles.
